Obama with Obamacare was like the Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk. Obama's got the damn thing up in the air for a few seconds. Just barely. But that created the possibiity that someday we'll have a reasonable health system

Good things don't happen automatically. Without the Civil War ,slavery would have continued. Without Obamacare our disfunctional health system would have continued.

Obamacare's the equivalent of the Gettysburg Address. Doesn't really change anything. Yet. But we had to start somewhere.

Sorry for the double-post. I tried to delete it. But the thing I left out about HIPPA was this: Just try to get insurance without having to give up your HIPPA rights. They require you to give up your private medical records. No Likey? No Insurance!

Obamacare? This may become something that the repubs will regret dissing.

Eric, thanks for this. Sorry to tune in so late, but any way, the Health Care issue is the big one for me.

People talk about HIPPA as though it provides any protection from the things that matter!

I would never tell a doctor if I had a drug or alcohol problem. I would make sure that any request for an antidepressant was carefully worded to make it seem like it was a very temporary issue. I would definitely minimize any kind of back problem.

Why? Because these are all red flags for insurance companies to either deny you coverage or to make your rates so expensive that they essentially deny you coverage.

We have reached the absurd point that Animal Farm so beautifully showed: UP is DOWN. GOOD is BAD. and on and on

In Jan 2009 Summers and Geithner were the two best people in the world for what had to be done then.

The banking system always depends upon confidence: no bank ever has enough ready cash to pay all its depositors. And if any bank suddenly suffers a loss of some of its assets because one of its debtors fails, then that bank really depends upon confidence.

In Jan 2009 the entire world's banking system was being temporarily sustained by investors hope that Obama would prevent the first card from falling, toppling the next in line till they all failed. Appointing Summers and Geither meant the first card didn't fall.

If he'd gotten that wrong 9.6% unemployment would be a distant memory. 30% anyone?
