That all changed in 1994 when the Republicans took over the House...it was a political crime to associate with those on the other side of the isle.</p><p>During the Republican controlled House and Senate...2000 to 20006...Democrats were barred from the legislative process. Now the Republicans openly state their only aim in Congress is to make sure Obama is a one-term President.</p><p>Whatever happened to representing the will of the people? Seems it got lost in the political juggling of one-up-manship where the Party trumps the publics best interest.</p><p>Obama offering the olive branch...bipartisanship...to the Republicans is a form of respect, yet it is met with unwarranted hostility. At least Democrats showed Bu$h the respect he was due as President and gave him the benefit of doubt many times when they should have taken him to task.</p><p>Sorry to say it, but I think we're way beyond a simple thank you and offering respect. The right has an axe to grind and are looking for someone to use it on.
