JFK was the man I voted for when I was finally old enough to vote. Yes, he made his mistakes, but he knew how to rally a country without talking up or talking down. We understood that he understood and we could forgive him his faults.

Obama could be that man now, and I want to believe that down deep he is. Fear has no place in the presidency and that's what we're getting from him. It doesn't inspire hope or trust, and we sorely need both right now. I don't know how to build a fire under him, so I read your Kennedy quotes with both sadness and joy.
