Yeah Obey, this appears to have been an accidental discharge after the gun fell from the book bag, but investigation continuing. They check every third or fourth student for weapons but I guess this was not the boy's day.

Now, you see Dick, if only ALL kids were armed then someone at that school could have shot the gun before it went off and hurt someone.
