DD, I just can't figure out how the Repubs in those states are getting away with the terrible things they're threatening to do to the people who need aid the most. I can't believe the majorities in those states don't also remember how it was before. Do they really want to go back to that?

I can't get too excited about the "abortion is murder" crowd when they won't do anything to ease the lives of the children already leading precarious lives in this country. Their hypocrisy is disgusting. I'm always surprised that they're never challenged in that way when they get up on their soapboxes.

We will go back to those times if we're not careful. We're heading that way already. And the MSM, as usual, is neglecting their responsibilities. Where is the MSM outcry against the phony "budget cutting" that somehow always means cutting badly needed social programs? I can't hear them!

Really heart rendering.

We all knew people in those days; the unexpected pregnancy. And both men and women were disposed to blame the woman.

One thing for sure politically, the right cares more about a fetus than a baby. repubs are even now attempting to cut programs that are in place to help care for our children!

Mostly I am glad times have changed so much Mona, that woman do not have to be ashamed they are or were pregnant.

In the middle 80's I used to escort women into planned parenthood facilities, most were not there for abortions but Ronald Reagan and his boys had so whipped the knuckleheads into a frenzy about abortion, there were people there every day, yelling and screaming at women who were just trying to get health care. Even if they were there for an abortion, it was none of their business.

I for one do not want to go back to those times you speak of, my generation had birth control and we got to choose when to have a baby and when not to have a baby. We owe a great deal to those who fought for our rights. I for one will not go back.

And you are correct, those same folks could care less about those children once they are born, and that is absolutely disgusting.
