Pretty ironic--I was just riffing off of "sufi Sam" (his "dancin' name", so to speak...) Nobody to my knowledge ever accused Sam of anything more diabolic then having widespread designs on the girls in gauze...

I haven't seen that, I have seen conflicting accounts, i.e., two accomplices have been arrested, and that one bomber survived. If true, well gee isn't that just swell how they are progressing with the dedication of their martyrs, so sure and enlightened in the cause. Wonder what kind of calculations these Taliban bigwigs make, do they pick out the best student of the madrassa or the worst? Did you see Terror in Mumbai? I am reminded of the scene of the interview of one of the surviving jihadis in the hospital, he was basically a young uneducated country bumpkin with dreams of getting away from home. The sickening cowardice and cynicism of using people that way.

After the threat, the district administration banned dhamal at the shrine, forcing devotees to perform the mystic dance outside, where adequate security arrangements had not been made.

Now of course I would expect some victims' families will be suing those who danced for whirling in public, after all by doing so, they were inflaming the delicate sensibilities of the Taliban. And they were warned!
