Eh, he got two terms because the democrats couldn't (and arguably still can't) get their act together. And yes, it is hilarious and fitting, especially because he wasn't a great speaker in the first place!

Clinton and Bush I enjoy worldwide status as philanthropists, and W is speaking at a motivational seminar - funny and fitting indeed.

It's hilarious, and fitting. Bush's administration was the Motivational Speaker Presidency. It was all about believing in himself.

He had motivation instead of qualifications, willpower instead of brainpower, faith in himself instead of a plan. Reality was just a series of obstacles to be overcome through stick-to-it-iveness and, um, heart.

Foreign policy, and what Matt Yglesias calls the "Green Lantern theory" of foreign policy, in which you can achieve anything through willpower, was only the most obvious example.

Hell, it worked well for Bush. He got two terms as President. It was just bad for everyone else.

At least the customers will be clear on what they're getting.
