I know any opinion that does not match is considered conservative and thats laughable. I do not feel cutting taxes on the rich is a viable option. I am for a flat tax across the board but then what would we do with the millions of unemployed accountants?

The real problem of Detroit is with entire generations of people living off the state on handouts. Drive thru the city and look at the condition people keep their property it is despicable and pathetic. When people treat themselves like trash, their property like trash, and people that visit as a pocket to beg from money from you get what is Detroit.

yawn...even from your title you could smell liberal...crying we don't deserve the state.

The city is losing population which means less students and will of course man more school closing. We are at the lowest population since the early 1900's I believe.

As a product of Detroit Public School I applaud Robert Bobb for stepping up and making things better. You mention he closed school but you fail to mention all the mess he has cleaned up. The people he found receiving paychecks for doing nothing. The teachers who sit in class and put forth no effort. The completely unsafe infrastructure of most of the schools he is closing.

The entire state is bleeding in debt and you think things can stay the same. It is going to take major cuts and programs will have to end. This is not easy and not comfortable and will take some time.

Reading thru your blog all I see is the same sit back and talk about everything. I do not see you steeping up and getting on the streets to help. What programs are you running? Have you picked up trash in the streets to help? Nope...complain complain complain...typical. Waiting for the government to tax and do it for you.

Truly outrageous, all of this. I haven't read all the links, but I would hope the Democrats and unions are mobilizing the public. Surely there are legal and political recourses to be taken.

Part of the takeover by Synder involves building a country club for Whirlpool executives using the best property in Benton Harbor. I doubt that there is a guarantee that Benton Harbor itself benefits from land sold by the state of Michigan. Benton Harbor gets a theft of it's property and taxation without repreentation in one sweet package.

This is a national conspiracy. The repubs have planned this for years and this type of activity is going on in 15-16 states right now.

If Minn did not have a dem for Governor, we would be screwed.

But this new economic 'marshall law' is something I never saw coming.

Laws in many states have allowed this type of take over, but I really have not witnessed such a consolidated movement by legislatures from different states to really use this method of tyranny.

But Michigan and Wisconsin voters listened to and believe what the repubs were saying during their lying duplicitious campaigns. Shame on them.

Hopefully, people in these two states and in Minnesota and in Ohio and in Indiana WILL NOT FORGET THE FELONIES BEING COMMITTED UPON THEIR PEOPLE!!

Ramona, damn, this sounds awful. I have been reading about Benton Harbor and was wondering why people are putting up with this, I seriously cannot believe a governor can fire people who have been elected! It makes no sense!!! I am amazed people are not doing something about this, although to answer my own question, it seems they need a damn good lawyer. I will keep watching this though, i am intrigued by these actions and hope they can stop these loons.
