World Rugby had to come to terms with reality: Irrespective of hormonal intervention, male athletes are, on average, 40 percent heavier, 15 percent faster, 30 percent more powerful, and 25–50 percent stronger than their female counterparts. And these differences pose obvious risks for female players in full-contact rugby.

Good article. I am in favor of letting women play up and participate against males if they choose to and can make the team or meet the competition in one on one sports. Men being allowed to play down is ridiculous as the article demonstrates. Joe Rogan has addressed this issue for a couple of years at least and so has Glenn Greenwald for, I think, as long.

Martina Navratilova & JK Rowling have "addressed" it for quite some time as well. Also Renee Richards, I hear.

I cannot remember where to find the link but it has been reported that Navratilova took so much heat for coming out against transsexual men playing against women that she backed down and apologized.

yes, it's this new social media trend to bully people into silence. They're attempting it with Rowling too.
I have no issue with creating this concept of gender as separate and different from biology but it can't be done by eliminating the existence or the science of biology.

Google "Navratilova trans". But she's handled things pretty well, digging into details, not making a big public stink. Basically, when is it fair for a transitioned person to compete without demonizing or unfairly limiting the person or class of people. It's non-trivial, but she especially apologized for using the word "cheat", even tho it had some validity in context ("switch, play/win, switch back")
I was more humored you referencing 2 dudes to handle the men-in-women's sports dilemma. Here's Borat and Jimmy Kimmel on menstrual cramps.

"switch, play/win, switch back". In my opinion the ability to switch back has nothing to do with the fact that the win was a cheat whether the *man* switches back or not.

This is why a dude reviewing a largely women's issue is problematic.
