One of the most disturbing reported incidents was Oct. 24, when a swastika, scrawled in feces, was found in a dorm bathroom. Several online postings have questioned if that really happened. It did, according to a report filed by a campus police officer who saw the swastika.
Posting at Dag citing the ever dubious right-wing nutjob/hate promoting web sites like 'Federalist.com' questioned the reality of this incident.
As I said when commenting on that posting, the next Prez of Mizzou needs to go beyond the last one's solution, mind-numbing web based 'education' (if you have ever had any, you know what I mean), by in person face to face meetings on campus with staff, administration, professors and students in classes.

If it never mattered, why did the Human Events blowhard at Federalist.com call it a hoax?
Mizzou needs a lot more on learning mutual respect among themselves and their community, than Prez tweets or online multiple choice box clicking.

If it never mattered, why do papers keep trotting it out tied to black protests re: incessant uses of the N word and other complaints of racial intolerance? Certainly someone smearing walls with their own or camel shit, as Bowie sang, would be beyond sensitivity training or President's address.

By calling it a hoax right wingers admitted if for real it did matter.
We'll see what action the next guy pushes but online b.s. obviously isn't enough.

Some of the photos were released at the request of the Conservative outlet that called it a hoax

I note it's a different author from the Federalist.com 'hoax' guy Peracles linked on another thread. Maybe that guy got the runs when the news came out.

Well, it's much clearer hearing the story, the heated arguments between the residents, the prior insults to the Jewish Fraternity, et al. Sorry if I'm the kind of guy that likes a little bit of proof and context with my poop scandal - it's just that living in the virtual internet 24x7, I"ve come to realize that shit happens, and sometimes it's important to have concrete ideas *how* shit happens and *why* and even "if". Guess I'm not a faith-based bullshitter. Still not sure I understand "bitch ass ngger" as what a presumably white guy called another white in the presence of blacks - maybe trying to channel Chris Rock or having trouble with self-identity or Ali G-wannabe rapper type or trying to impress the "homies" - I'm presuming the intoxicated person wasn't white even thought the report doesn't make that clear - but it is clear the "intoxicated individual" didn't like Jews and the disgusting psycho scatalogical sketcher should be dealt with accordingly.
Now, have a look at what happened at the Mizzou protest and the horrible "president's driver ran into a protester" incident, and maybe you'll understand why I like to have a bit of proof with my Post Toasties. Reconcile that video with "We want Tim Wolfe to admit his gross negligence, allowing the driver to hit one of the demonstrators, consenting to the physical violence of bystanders and lastly refusing to intervene when Columbia Police Department used excessive force with demonstrators."
I'm also a bit gobsmacked to realize that the N word disruption by a drunk guy at a black float or other homecoming preparation was followed 4 days later by the Chancellor announcing mandatory diversity and inclusion training for 2016 but that wasn't enough because he didn't "acknowledg[e] the work of African American students in developing diversity programs and for failing to acknowledge the breadth of racial issues on the campus" - what a bunch of petulant 3-year-olds - guess he didn't say "Mother may I" either, and then the President had the temerity not to listen to their bullhorn history lesson and get out and
be shamed by themtalk to them.by PeraclesPlease on Fri, 11/13/2015 - 12:30am
If Wolfe's dumb white ass had stepped out of his car and 'had the temerity' to walk a 1/2 mile and talk with and display some recognition of the protestors and their complaints, showing openness to listen to them anytime anywhere, he would have started to turn things around at Mizzou, and still have his job.
Sometimes you have to do the unexpected to turn emotions and perceptions around. It's called l-e-a-d-e-r-s-h-i-p. Mizzou didn't have it, they need it now.

The timeline of what led up to the protests is much longer than you realize. In fact the man who went on the hunger strike reported racial incidents as far back as 2009, when he was an undergraduate. A March forum on the campus focused on complaints from black students. It was not about a 4 day response.

The confrontation between the press and the protestors was predictable. Many whites are skeptical of charges of racism. The black students see journalist is who don't look like them covering stories for white owned media, the black students don't trust MSM to do anything more than superficial or biased reporting just many Liberals don't trust MSM to do detailed reporting on Progressive issues.

(Note: The WaPo story also relates black students and Professors describing racial incidents on campus. One Professor has lost count of how many times she experienced name-calling.

Thanks for the links.
Mizzou needs some leadership coming from the white community, to show the white community is listening and will engage in sustained and effective action to end the atmosphere of racism.
To me, the fact that Wolfe sat on his ass in the vehicle at the parade incident shows the guy had no guts, knowledge or awareness of how to meet challenges.....or to handle confrontations and use them to calm tensions and display respect....thereby showing the necessary qualities required to lead a large public institution within a diverse community.
He failed at that test, and other previous tests, and is gone. Hopefully they will find someone to pick up the pieces and move forward.

If you dismiss the black folks, maybe you will listen to the nine UM deans who wanted the Chancellor gone. They wanted this done back in October Things were not right on the campus.

The plot: Incompetent leadership leaving both faculty and students feeling that attention to detail was missing.

Film critics often differ from public opinion. The public opinion of students and faculty was that the administration was lacking. The school made the decision to terminate the President and Chancellor. We will see if the black students and university faculty feel that their issues are being addressed

There's an important lesson we're in danger losing track of here:
Racists play with their own poop.
