Today's news that Donald Trump unsuccessfully tried to peddle Marla Maples' ass (or at least a representation thereof) to Playboy (against her will) makes more comprehensible his affinity for Roger Ailes.
Ailes, you will recall, in addition to doing a Hall of Fame Jabba the Hutt imitation when any attractive woman was near (replete with the many chins for the drool to traverse...) also found it commercially advantageous to have the sexual services of beautiful young employees at his disposal, to generate good will or otherwise motivate the cooperation of other men.
The ambition to "own" a beauty pageant fits right in, and his present difficulties with Alicia Machado may usefully (and ironically...) be framed in the classic fury that the pimp has for the employee who escapes.
Comments
Evidently it is his practice, (no doubt informed by prior experience) for Trump to demand of a new employee a highly punitive non DISPARAGEMENT agreement--not to be confused with an agreement not to disclose trade secrets or processes which are part of what one learns at work.
Non disparagement, of course, extends the zone of enforced silence beyond the normal strictures that sanction false statements of fact.
Non disparagement prevents not only the assertion of false negative facts, it bars the expression of a negative OPINION, which is not even offered AS a fact.
