This is so unspeakably sad. If the pattern of past riots hold, residents of this area will suffer economically for decades as a result. https://t.co/JQ5GkL9BC1
In real life, almost nobody wants their town and their livelihoods burned down. It's not a polarized issue, even if social media promotes it as one. https://t.co/BwyabXr1zi
The people destroying businesses and causing harm are a small minority but they're being conflated with the protesters by both passionate advocates and opponents on social media..there's actually very little overlap.
I really regret seeing media personalities and other people earning large salaries defending the destruction of communities out of some sense of moral outrage identity. That's self-serving. It isn't actually thinking about a compassionate response. And it's...
...failing to understand that, like in many similar circumstances in the US and across the world, a small minority of people exploit these situations to commit crimes for their own benefit, not to bring about any kind of political change.
I’m always amazed how many people think police brutality is only something minorities should be concerned about. American police kill more white people alone in a year than European countries do over the course of decades.

What we’re dealing with is not an isolated case. We’re dealing with a systemic problem...the state needs permanent, deep systemic change. pic.twitter.com/QMe1OKNRKm

When George Floyd was tragically killed, National conversation focused on justice for him, systematic change. Focus must return to where it belongs; distracting conduct must cease; Police must restrain their response. Protesters need to center #JusticeForFloyd
This man doesn’t look like any civil rights protestor I have ever seen. Looks like a provocateur. Can anyone ID him? “Suspicious Man Breaks Window & Starts Minneapolis Riots” - YouTube https://t.co/e1lNAabWcb
These officers were said to be responding to a report of a forged check. And somehow that non-violent claim ended with a man begging to be allowed to breathe. https://t.co/F8cOffcPSa
BREAKING: Few quick bursts of gunfire coming from near 3rd Precinct @MinneapolisPD. My security team tells me it sounds like an assault rifle. No police in sight. Moving locations. #NBCNews
