Jazz is very big in Japan. There are little jazz bars every where. I've often go to listen to natives play. When ever one of the musicians was annoying me I'd request Invitation by Bronislau Kaper. It's a jazz standard in all the jazz standard books that many jazz musicians carry so they always had a chart for it. And it's exceedingly difficult to play. Key changes every couple of measures, many of the chromatic, minor diminished to minor diminished. Very difficult harmony to improvise over. Here's Kaper playing his composition.

How are the Jazz Bars doing on the Border? I hear a major resurgence since Trump's been in office, not seen since Herb Alpert - people come just to hear them ivories tickled down by the New Wall. Quite inspiring. The Blue Note, southside.
