We all assumed that George W. Bush would spend the rest of his days clearing brush from his ranch in Crawford, Texas - much the way he spent his presidency. But because of global warming there is a world wide brush shortage and W has had to find other things to occupy his time. What you ask? I'm so glad you asked 'cause it's hilarious - he's become a motivational speaker!
That's right, for as little as $19 dollars you and your entire office can come hear our former fearless leader speak. Now that's a bargain! I don't know about you, but I'd like to go just to hear what he had to say.
I know he has insulated himself from reality enough so that he still thinks he did a fine job at ruining the country, but seriously, what could he possibly have to say about how to run a business? Not only was he a horrible president, he was a horrible businessman too. He had a hard enough time speaking coherently when he had stuff to say about things, what will he ramble on about now that somebody just gives him a mic and tells him to talk? What type of folksy wisdom will he drop on us? What is he going to motivate people to do? To be born into a super rich family and get everything handed to you?
Here is the flier:
I think what I like most about this flier is that everybody else listed has a quick phrase describing their expertise and ability and then a few bullet points about their accomplishments, but W's is just: 43rd President. And if you had amnesia or love Fox news you would think that is a good thing.

Think that we can get him to make a guest appearance at dag? If not, my vote is for Zig Ziglar.

I'm not sure if he's worth the $19, we can spend that on something more useful, like some bacon related product.
And hey, we all love Zig, I mean his name is Zig!

Personally, I'd like to hear Tony Parker's buzzer beater strategies for winning under presure. Either that or how to rebound from failure. Sounds inspirational!

It's hilarious, and fitting. Bush's administration was the Motivational Speaker Presidency. It was all about believing in himself.
He had motivation instead of qualifications, willpower instead of brainpower, faith in himself instead of a plan. Reality was just a series of obstacles to be overcome through stick-to-it-iveness and, um, heart.
Foreign policy, and what Matt Yglesias calls the "Green Lantern theory" of foreign policy, in which you can achieve anything through willpower, was only the most obvious example.
Hell, it worked well for Bush. He got two terms as President. It was just bad for everyone else.
At least the customers will be clear on what they're getting.

Eh, he got two terms because the democrats couldn't (and arguably still can't) get their act together. And yes, it is hilarious and fitting, especially because he wasn't a great speaker in the first place!
Clinton and Bush I enjoy worldwide status as philanthropists, and W is speaking at a motivational seminar - funny and fitting indeed.

Let us take a moment to recall the spectacular and controversial career of Colin Powell. Because that's one career that's as over as Bush's.

I wouldn't count either one out yet. Nor would I predict that Palin's political career is over.

Frankly, I was a little surprised to see both Bush and Powell on the ticket.

He did a spectacular job of ruining the country. Everyone not on Fox News would agree completely.
