Hello folks, you've probably noticed the new Facebook Like buttons at the top of each post. We added these to facilitate social sharing of dagblog content. If you click a post's Like button, your recommendation will appear on your Facebook news feed, and hopefully, a few of your friends will check it out. Ideally, if the piece is really good, some of your friends will also click the Like button, and it will go viral.
There are limited options with these buttons. I can't hide the number of recs, for example. But if they're obtrusive, I can take the buttons of the main page and just put them on the full article. I look forward to your thoughts.
PS If you would like your own posts to appear automatically on your Facebook page, I can set that up for you. Go to this page and click the Follow button. Then contact me or notify me by comment, and I'll provide additional instructions.

Well I don't have a Facbook account and do not intend to get one. So I am neither here nor there.

Sorry, Genghis; I don't even see the buttons. Or do we only see them if we're on Facebook? ;o)

How does anyone NOT have a FB account in this day in age? Come on, ya old farts! Ya can't let the youngin's have ALL the fun! Ha!

Fun or just wasting time? I will say that quitting Facebook is as hard as quitting the Mormon Church: nearly impossible. I joined by accident from an email a friend sent me. I have the distinction of having One (1) friend on Facebook, and hope to keep it that way! I have quit (resigned) several times, byt still receive requests for 'friending'.
Merry Christmas, Fuck-you-all-and-the-fucking-horses-you-rode-in-on! Remember: It's not all good, but it's better than the alternative, unless, of course, it ain't!

I don't have a facebook account. I am 41. Does that qualify me for old fart status?

Yes.

Stilli only meant that as a half yes. You're never too old.

It's ok Lis. OFS doesn't scare me. I embrace it.

The image that looks back at me every morning around 7AM from my mirror simply loves you, Em.

Facebook, Twitter...Is it any wonder?

My first thought was that it would make a bit more sense to have a "like" button by the "Share/Save" button. Just a thought, though.
