The Bishop and the Butterfly: Murder, Politics, and the End of the Jazz Age

God help me, I can't stop crying

I loved Teddy and the Kennedy clan. Despite obvious flaws, they represent all that is good about this country and liberalism -- a love of neighbor that refuses to measure human worth by net worth, that strives for a higher good despite our sins, that believes in the power of redemption and that understands the duty to use whatever privileges fate has bestowed on us to lift up the greater family of humanity.

I know Teddy is kicking back and having a drink right now, but I swear, I can't stop crying because we've lost a giant soul who made each of ours a little taller, too.
