Harry Reid has announced he not going to run for reelection and retire.

He posted this video this morning.

Senator Reid is 75 years old and has been in politics since 1968.  He has had a long career. He entered the senate in 1986 and became Majority leader in 2006.  He was injured this winter in a fall.

I follow Harry Reid on Face Book and this video was just posted in the last hour. I wish him and his family the best.  You can always tell a good politician when they know it is time to pass on the torch.

I always disagreed with him on abortion because he wanted it to be restricted to cases of rape and health reasons.  Other then that I think he served the country well.

His wife was sick a few years ago and I think he realizes they need to spend the time that they have enjoying life.

Harry is going to be 76 this year.

    He is a good man.

He has looked in agony since his accident.

I do not think he should drive a car, but I trust him for the next 20 months to keep on keepin on.

I am just worried that our party loses another Senator.

I just cannot see Nevada electing a Democrat as one of its Senators?

I was expecting him to retire before he fell on the ice.  There will be plenty of speculation as to who will be his replacement.  I just hope who ever it is that s/he will be dynamic and for the little guy.

The playing field is on the Democratic home turf this time.
