The Bishop and the Butterfly: Murder, Politics, and the End of the Jazz Age

    Hey AP idiots, it's Democrat-bashing!

Republicans love to annoy the left by referring to the Democrat Party, the Democrat candidate, etc.
Right-wing bloggers and media types have picked it the habit.
Now the once-venerable Associated Press, stung by evidence its coverage is in the tank for the GOP, overcompensates:
AP reporter Liz Sidoti writes today:
After several days of Democratic bashing by his supporters, the Arizona senator struck a nonpartisan stance ...

Aside from the factual issue of how non-partisan McCain was, Liz, you need to go back to J-school.
In this case, the correct word is Democrat.
    Democrat-bashing. With a hyphen, please.

    Canuck,

I'd be interested to learn about evidence supporting:

Associated Press...is in the tank for the GOP

Though I don't doubt it, I must have missed the specific story. Links?

    Thanks.

Liz Sidoti is the one who edited out McCain's "excellent question" gaffe when asked "How do we beat the bitch?". Too bad for Liz, she couldn't save her pal McCain from the video evidence.

    Yep, she's in the tank.

Then there's Nedra Pickler, whose infamy as a rightwing hack needs no explanation. If you have doubts, there's a Wikipedia entry on her.

Fournier actually has ties to the GOP and McCain, yet continues to write for the AP.

    And on and on.

It's not one specific story. Many examples have been exposed and discussed at this site.
Under new Washington bureau chief Ron Fournier, the AP's election coverage has been skewed to an incredible degree. Posters here, at Daily Kos and at Huffington Post have denounced it.
AP even had to circulate an internal memo giving managers "talking points" to fend off the criticism.
I would add Charles Babington to the list of GOP shills, along with Fournier, Sidoti and Pickler.
Here's an example of the subtle bias I'm talking about:
