    Prez: "Impeachment? Bring it, suckahs!"

It is widely held that John Boehner's latest bit of clowning (the impending lawsuit over executive action over reach) is a desperate attempt to placate the impeachment hawks in his caucus.  He knows that nothing will fuck up the Repugnant's electoral prospects this November like sending up Articles of Impeachment to a Dem majority Senate where they will be laughed out of court, but not before turning out the Obama acolytes whose normal mid-term apathy is projected to make 2014 a repeat of 2010.

If he has the balls, Obama can undercut Boehner's (wise) strategy, thusly:

Step One: (aka, "The Cheney-Miller Gambit") An allied newsperson ( eg.,Rachel Maddow) receives a leak from an anonymous NSA source over the weekend.

"Somali Shabab sympathizers in St Paul have been heard plotting a low rent 9/11 redux-- fifty suicide drivers to assemble in Michigan (where infrastructure is demonstrably on the hairy edge of catastrophic failure); there they will rent 50 u-haul box trucks.

They are to spend the night loading the trucks floor to ceiling with salvaged two-liter soda bottles filled with water and then drive them from opposite sides of five Michigan bridges and overpasses at rush hour.  When the five truck convoys meet in mid span, the resulting overload is intended to precipitate fracture, killing thousands, and disrupting the local economies for months pending restoration of the vital arteries.  (As a back-up, a supply of quarter-stick M-80's conveniently purchasable in the run up to Independence Day will be detonated if the weight of the overloaded vehicles does not suffice)"

Rachel will break the story in her monday broadcast.

Step Two:At a press conference the following day, Obama quotes the story and announces that a state of emergency has been declared covering the entire state of Michigan (they already have the financial overlord emergency precedent to refer to.)

In order to thwart the vile plot, FEMA will immediately nationalize the relevant state and county agencies, and commence the repair of all substandard bridges and overpasses in the State.

Step Three: Republicans howl, livid at the patent subterfuge calling it overreach on steroids; Boehner loses control of the rank and file, and articles of mpeachment are reported out of the judiciary committee and passed by a partisan vote before the week ends.

Step four: Obama rallies the now  energized Democratic base, calling for a sweep of House and Senate races in the interest of national security, blasting the Republicans as soft on traffic terrorism.

    Hi-jinks ensue.

I love it when a plan comes together

Long term observers will recognize my ongoing theme calling for a state of infrastructure emergency.

The current variant, unlike previous iterations, welcomes rather than ignores the impeachment peril.

I think you were replaced by an android body double. Seriously, where is the real JR?

    cheeky

Okay just kidding. I saw my dad a week ago, he's been infected by Fox of course. So he only argued once this time, because I was able to shut him down, however, this impeachment thing is their meme.

We started talking about it must have been something, not exactly sure, but he launched into this first, well Clinton should be in jail. So I said, what for dad? All kinds of things, he claimed. So then he said and Obama too, so then I thought to myself okay, I'm all in, let's commence with arguing at the restaurant. (It's our usual) So I said to him, "Be specific, if laws have been broken I need to you be specific and tell me what those laws are." He became too flustered, "Uhh, umm, well there are lots he's just like Nixon"! My eyebrows shot up, "Wha, umm like Nixon, you sure you want to go there dad, because I can tell you specifically what Richard Nixon did as criminal activity, and you still can't be specific about what you think President Obama has done". Finally he yells, cause he's mostly deaf, "IMMIGRATION". So I attempted some very deep and calm discussion of our responsibility as adults to those children, etc and so on. So if I have my seer cap on, I expect Boner to sue over something like immigration.

Impeachment, yep, that is what they are going for, and in one way I agree with Bill Maher, do it fools, do it.

Black voters played the GOP for chumps this week. They entered the polls and voted for Conservative Thad Cochran, Black voters handed a Tea Party member a loss. The Tea Party is now displaying it's innate racism by now claiming that the law enacted by Republicans on open voting primaries is illegal when The cross-party voters are Black.

Blacks, angered by voter suppression techniques used by the GOP, have gotten their voting credentials and used them to further a rift within the GOP.  Neo-Confederate McDaniel refuses to concede. As the GOP fight goes on, Blacks wait to see if Cochran has been weakened enough for a Democrat to win.

The GOP voter suppression effort is backfiring, Blacks will turn out to vote. If the GOP is foolish enough to try to impeach Obama, the GOP will reap the whirlwind.

. If the GOP is foolish enough to try to impeach

It's  now Prez's  mission to snooker them into so doing.  (Shouldn't really be that heavy a lift)

In Mississippi the voters don't declare a party when they register.  They can vote in either the Democrat or Republican primary. The primaries are held at different times. This year the Democrat primary was first. If you vote in one primary you can't vote in the other. The polling places had a list of all that had voted in the earlier primary, so there was no fraud.  Mississippi is controlled by one party, so most elections are decided by the primary.  Chad Cochran is a politician that had been in politics a long time and knew how to ask the AA community for their vote.   They gave it to him because the other guy was awful.  They knew what they were getting with Cochran.  The people of Mississippi did the right thing because we sure didn't need another crazy in Congress.

As I understand things, 40% of Mississippi's budget is from Federal funds. Some of the funds procured by Cochran did go to aide Black institutions. What Blacks did was a wise move.

"So I attempted some very deep and calm discussion of our responsibility as adults to those children, etc and so on."

Would you be able to recall what you said and post it here? What exactly do you think our responsibilities are for children old enough to immigrate to the US on their own? Isn't portraying such capable young people as children clearly an attempt to manufacture consent to exploit them?

These kids are being brought here by Coyote gangs.  The parents pay the Coyotes to escort them here.  Then the Coyotes abandon them at the border. Older boys and girls have been jumping trains for the last couple of decades to get here.  They usually get sent back to Central America when caught. We were used to and had a system to deal with the older train riders. The flood of children coming by way of Coyotes and their younger age caught both us and Mexico unprepared this year.

Mexico has arrested up 30 + of these gangs recently and have rescued 20,000 + little kids in the last few months. It is an International Crises, and Washington sent funds to Mexico to help these kids.  The parents are sending them here to save their lives from drug gangs that are killing them.  It is not just us dealing with these abandoned children.

It is our responsibility to ease the trauma they are going through and keep them safe. Some of these children probably will not be able to return home.

You missed the memo?  Herebelow, for your convenience....

    MEMO

FROM THE DESK OF THE EVOLUTIONARY OVERLORD

    TO: HUMANS

    RE: PRIME DIRECTIVE

THE WELFARE OF ALL YOUNG OF THE SPECIES IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF ANY ADULT OF THE SPECIES.

Try telling that to a new lion king. On the other hand, the 'brother's keeper' argument would have been more convincing.

This is such a difficult situation. Our natural tendency is to care for the young, even those of strangers but what to do when those strangers who, after all, have primary responsibility use that tendency against you.

momoe says parents are paying people to bring their children to the border and leaving them there. Why? Other sources point out that we have a policy of of trying to reunite the children with their families, regardless of legal status, or of placing them here in foster care. In the past, the number of children dumped at the border was a couple of thousand but it has recently grown to ~50,000. No one knows why the sudden jump or how many more are on the way.

Using these children (and perhaps their parents) to play us for personal or political gain should make us really, really angry.  We should take the sad stories and pictures with a whopping big grain of salt. The children are being cared for as well as could be expected after being dumped.

There are few better illustrations of how it can be cruel to be kind than this mess that resulted from a compassionate policy.

They are not being sent here to take advantage of us.  They are fleeing.  There are 4 small countries that 2 large warring drug cartels are terrorizing.  In December they started killing kids and cutting them up for display as a warning to parents who don't let them recruit their kids into their gangs.  They are also kidnapping children for ransom and then killing them. They are war refugees. Not in the sense of conventional war but bloody street wars. It has continued to escalate the last 6 months.

Last week the Vice President was down there to talk with these tiny countries to assess what we can do to end this.  I am sure special ops are now on their way with missions.  We will be helping our tiny neighbors to end this terror.  The First Lady of Honduras was invited to our border with Mexico to visit with these kids.

I live a couple of miles from ING School.  A couple of my retired teacher friends work as tutors there.  This school trains wealthy international children in tennis and other Olympic sports.  Most of these children are from our neighbors to the south.  I first heard about this terrorism through that grape vine this spring and that it might get worse if these small countries can't police up the warring gangs of these 2 cartels. The school is full of kids from there because their parents are trying to protect them from kidnapping and murder. Children have been flying in on visas that have relatives here in South Florida.

Our media sucks.  They have been caught a sleep at the wheel again.

In the mean time we have little kids to care for that don't have money or families here to take them. How we care for them and help their country will be a good investment in our relationship with Central America.

Let me see if I can guess which four small countries: Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua, the historic banana republics?  Do you have any idea what our military presence is there already?

What would a special ops mission be tasked with doing that forces already there can not do? Act as bodyguards for rich kids? Not that they may not need bodyguards but there are plenty of private contractors their parents could hire.

Anyway, that is separate issue from the not-rich kids that are flooding in along the US-Mexican border. You said earlier that gangs called Coyotes were escorting those kids. Who pays the Coyotes?

And what is an ING school?

Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Belize are the counties that all this violence is going on.

Yes I know how many troops are there. The numbers are very high.  They have been there for decades guarding oil pipelines and US business interest for the most part.  Special ops are not all black helicopters they also nation build.  Experts that will help plan to put an end to the violence and train.  We were putting pressure on Mexico to seal up their southern border but that isn't working. Reality has hit us over the head and we are now willing to help solve the problem with the violence. The state department and other agencies are working on this also.

Coyotes are Mexican smugglers.  They smuggle everything and anything into the US and Canada.  Their biggest market is people trying to come to this country. They are probably the source of the miss information that their kids can stay in this country after they cross the border. We have an information campaign going on now telling them they should not send their kids here. Will the media campaign stop them? I doubt it.  These are desperate people.  We have to help stop the violence.

I should of typed IMG, not ING.

Our policies toward Central America has not been as good as they should be. That stems from the war on drugs and GOP politics here in this country.  That is where I put my anger at our failed policies not at the parents and kids.  We can do better.

I've *always been full of helpful suggestions for a "grown-a-pair" Prez....I'm willing to welcome the latest version of Obama Agonistes, even if it took Boehner breaking his heart by turning down the golf dates...

*Just like Charley  Brown is always full of hope each time he approaches the football, and we know how Lucy deals with THAT!

If they go through with this theatrics of a court suit, it will make a better election for the Democrats.  Grimes is polling ahead of McTurtle.  That is one victory that is going to be really sweet.  At this point with Cantor being toast now and McTurtle in a difficult race, the Orangeman should be a little nervous about giving minorities an other angry reason to vote.

Oh, I so HOPE you are right about Grimes vs McTurtle.  In normal times he would be the most despicable person ever...but he now has so much competition....

It has been a toss up since she announced until the past couple of months.  She has pulled a head by a couple points in different polling. That means right now the movement is toward her. He hasn't got much traction for all the millions he has spent so far.  His approval rating isn't good for this close to an election.  He hasn't been bringing home the bacon to Kentucky in the recent years and there is not much to like about him even for Kentucky. He released a internal pole that shows him way ahead a couple of weeks ago but...poll watchers point to the pollster as an unreliable outfit.

I'm so glad I don't live near a bridge here in Michissippi.

Actually, I don't live near anything.

See that big empty spot in the upper right? That's where I reside.

The downside of having our bridges and roadways crumble away is that it makes it more difficult for us to escape.

Love this satellite picture.  Since I live above the bridge, I do have to worry about an escape.  I'm closest to Canada and I still have relatives there so I'm hoping they'll let bygones be bygones and accept me as one of their own.
