    What Do You Think...II ?

Earlier today I made a post on the following subject and one of the comments asked for further info...I should have posted the link to the actual Assembly Bill, so I am re-posting w/ that link...Also, Billy chided me for using the word "concerned"...just pretend it isn't there!

Being fairly new to TPM I'm unaware of all the various subjects that have been covered ad nauseum, so if this is one of them let me apologize in advance...

I received an e-mail in my inbox that has ME mildly concerned, and I'm wondering if it is because of my "conservative" roots, or if there are other moderates/liberals that would just as soon steer clear of this issue in the schools...

The California legislature has passed AB 2567 which makes May 22 "Harvey Milk Day" and requires public schools to "conduct suitable commemorative exercises" in his honor. (For those of you who don't remember, Harvey Milk was an anti-religious Gay activist San Francisco Supervisor who was murdered.)

My gut feeling is that this is a subject that doesn't need to be addressed in elementary school. Parents should be able to decide at which point they want to teach their children about homosexuality.

    What do you think?
