I figure this recommendation requires starting another thread on what happened with the Capitol Police. If I don't give its own post, someone else would.
For those who are wondering why so much attention has been focused on the response of the Capitol Police to the Trump-inspired riots, here’s a data-driven article that provides some useful frame of reference. https://t.co/MAdlWGRd23
Those soldiers appear to have rifles loaded with blanks, for whatever that is worth if it is actually the case. Notice the cross shaped extensions on the rifle barrels. Those appear, though I cannot be sure, to be suppressors which insert into the barrel so as to offer enough resistance to the blanks gas because they have a smaller powder load than a standard bullet. This is to operate the automatic feed of the next round. A standard bullet cannot be fired with a blank suppressor in place.
Nope, with a couple other things but never with either end of a carbine. But, if it came to a confrontation I would much rather someone swing a gun at me than shoot me with it. My comment was just to say what I think the tactical situation was, not to make any judgment about it.
I found the description interesting, thanx. And better to be the butt of a joke than meet the butt of a gun. Even if the business end not a barrel of laughs.

If you watch the video they just played on @CNN of the officer being crushed in the door by the mob of domestic terrorists I promise you will never suggest "moving on"

We can't be this
We have prosecute every person responsible to the fullest extent of the law
I'd simply like to stress that the definition of lefties and righties is waaaay more fungible these days, he's got it in short:
The rioters wanted to kidnap and hang Mike Pence. For not forsaking his constitutional duties and altering the certified results of an American election.

Doh! Why didn't I check the pros from Dover earlier? They've only been covering D.C. since 1877.
Maggie Haberman recommended this one from the NBC congressional reporter by retweeting it:
.@haleytalbotnbc’s account of what it was like inside the House chamber is absolutely chilling, as all of these stories have been. I’m in awe of her always but especially right now. Read her story >> https://t.co/qqfDC4JOpH

Data?
Don't need no stinking data.
Authorities are more than twice as likely to break up a left-wing protest than a right-wing protest?

My opinion, Washington Post's "what happened?" is the best on topic I have read so far:
