Striking stat, via Roland Fryer: "First- and second-generation African immigrants, despite constituting only about 10 percent of the U.S. Black population, make up about 41 percent of all Black students in the Ivy League." https://t.co/3cndzw0LOH
I’m sure people feel more comfortable talking about the Asian dynamic but let’s remember that the first round of debates around this was in the 1990s when Asian share of US was far less. https://t.co/RIziQFgKDZ
Top schools weren’t nearly as Asian in the 1990s as they are now because there weren’t that many Asians in US back then. Echoes of how Ivy schools’ quotas on Jews followed wave of migration in early 20th century. https://t.co/4w5V4r33iC
There weren’t that many Asians in US period until after the liberalization of immigration laws in 1960s. And even between now and 1990 we saw a more than 200 percent increase in Asian population. Ed debates are becoming more focused on Asians for a reason.
"Our campuses are stuffed w/non-academic office workers. If elected to Harvard’s Board of Overseers, I‘ll propose firing most of them." https://t.co/E298YQ0P6q
meanwhile if you're stuck going to Univ. of Minnesota:
I'm not endorsing any candidates for office until one of them calls out the Regents and top administrators of @UMNews who simply ignored pleas for help from students and parents. Gun fights on frat row, carjackings, fireworks attacks, armed robberies and more. We've had enough!
I grew up in West Virginia. My witness at the Supreme Court + defense of equal rights has elicited the ugliest racism I’ve ever seen against Asians, immigrants, Indians, Hindus..me. By white extremists? No. By racist “anti-racists.” And guess what? Their hate emboldens me more! https://t.co/VjkIaWsOGV

Ha, i missed my orientation session. Still found the campus pub somehow, along with the overpriced bookstore.
