How much is "sugar" vs sugar substitutes like especially corn syrup? And we subsidize those - we don't need a tax, we need to end subsidies. Evil shit.
Corn syrup (HFCS) is in everything and it is really not that good for you. It has made us fat and diabetic.
I use pure cane sugar to bake with because it is sweeter then beet sugar and I don't need as much as the recipe usually calls for. In baking sugar is considered a liquid so you can add a little unsweetened apple sauce to make up the difference in the decrease of sugar.
