Smug lawyers, professors and Washington insiders like to scoff at talk of transformational change, as if those calling for it are the ones who are out of touch. But a transformation of some sort is inevitable at this point, and the only unknown is the direction it will take us.
The idea that those seeing change as inevitable are the crazy ones is the height of lunacy when the status quo is unsustainable. They mock from their cozy ivory perches because they assume they’re not the ones who will do the suffering. These dinosaurs are laughing at a comet.
