The House of Representatives just exercised our oversight over Washington, DC and passed a resolution disapproving the city's act allowing non-citizens to vote.

162 Dems voted against it.

Let that sink in. They are now on record supporting non-citizens voting in elections.

local elections. so lawful permanent residents (green card holders) get to vote in local elections. not federal elections which require US citizenship.
b/c democrats are in favor of democracy.
and republicans are opposed to democracy.

So yeah, you live legally in DC but you're not a citizen, so you get to vote for local dogcatcher and trash cleanup and other municipal issues and presumably mayor (but not powerless -anyway District Congressional representatives)
