I am old enough to remember postal savings accounts and certificates. The certificates were like saving bonds for large deposits. We are in need of low cost banking for small savings. I let my grand kids save money in a cookie tin at my house. The fees are too high at a bank and you need several hundreds of dollars to open one. It is going to take a massive push to force the house to vote to do this. They want the public post office to be real small so we use private for profit shipping. It is good to keep talking about using the post office like this.
