What really drew my eye to this is the first comment on her post. At first I thought; well it could be fake but even if so it is interesting:
I am so ashamed of myself that I voted for him. I stopped my support several months ago, but even now it bother's me how I was blind to see what a person he is.
But then I checked his page and he seems legit especially as he has this as his pinned tweet:
I didn't plan to switch parties. I didn't plan end my support for Trump, I didn't plan for Sarah Silverman to respond in kindness, I didn't plan or my column to be tweeted by Hillary Clinton I didn't plan to apologize for my hate as a conservative to anyone, & I don't regret it.
Anyone familiar with veteran reporter @abbydphillip knows she does great work. Watch Trump demean the presidency as he tries to humiliate her on TV—"What a stupid question," he sneers, after she asks a smart question about a huge story that he won't answer pic.twitter.com/z4SKwLu0k0
Michael Massing takes a critical view of how the media covered the midterms, especially the performance of cable news and CNN in particular, in his essay “Trump & CNN: Case History of an Unhealthy Codependency” https://t.co/8DOc9zM8Ef via @nybooks
Jay Rosen of PressThink.org vs. Masha Gessen @ The New Yorker:
No. You can walk away from the briefings and press conferences without walking away from critical coverage of the Trump presidency. In fact, you'd have more resources for the latter if you executed on the former. Take back the mic, extend the lens. https://t.co/vxrDE4kQEw
Trump knows that black women understand the con. He knows that the vast majority of black women cast votes against him. Trump strikes out at black women because they are not his type of people.
Reporters should respond to Trump in the same way White House reporters would have responded to President Obama if he made the similar derogatory comments about women reporters, or if Obama pulled the credentials of a Fox News reporters for asking a blunt question. Obama and his press secretary would not be able to continue unchallenged.
It's an interesting article. Perhaps it's good that we realize that Fox isn't the sole cause of the radicalization of the right. I'm not sure how many people thought it was the sole cause. But it seems evident that a significant part of the republican party has been radicalized. Better than saying it's not just Fox we need to find out what it is that caused that radicalization and figure out what if anything we can do about it.
