Still, the use of cannabis was, at that time, very common in Europe and England among the peasants, most likely to help them cope with their shitty existence. Regular life wasn't all that great 400 years ago.

So, if Shakespeare wanted to chill out a little, why not? (not saying he was a peasant)

They also grew up drinking lots of ale because the water contamination. The fermentation killed the bacteria in the water.

I really did not know this. Not at all although Egyptian Mummies thousands of years old demonstrate use of cocaine and weed! Although establishment anthropologists claim that these findings only evidence corruption of the corpses by the investigators. hahahah
