BREAKING: The U.S. Census Bureau has released 2020 reapportionment data showing which states have gained & lost congressional seats following the 2020 census. As shown on this map, six states gained 1 or more districts, while seven states lost a seat https://t.co/R478RmD6WMpic.twitter.com/vPctXT6Hnw
a reminder:The 2020 elections were a disaster for a decade of redistricting, further securing GOP minority rule

We'll update these maps once the 2020 reapportionment numbers are out, but these cartograms based on 2019 pop estimates show the partisan control over 2020s congressional & legislative redistricting. GOP is set to draw 2-3 times as many districts as Dems https://t.co/mDHBm0BFwDpic.twitter.com/XxvuoAteuL
Arta sez: gee, thanks for the fish, 2020 protestors, rioters and looters! And let's not leave out lefty woke culture warriors. A little more of that promised state house blue wave in reaction to Trump would have been nice; alas, it vanished partly through your efforts.
A Census official said if New York had counted 89 additional people, the state would not have lost a congressional seat and Minnesota would have instead. https://t.co/LyTLNt71sc
Today’s initial Census results have the Democrats’ Electoral College disadvantage getting even worse, and Senate malapportionment getting more severe. I hope none of y’all were counting on population growth saving our institutions... https://t.co/YYvm6DCCVI
Too much panic. Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida all shifted blue - Oregon to me is a bigger worry with crazy protests. Texas gets a lot of disgruntled migrant Californians - not quite Texans but sick of disasters and property costs.
The biggest issue is whether Biden's governing works and who runs in 2024. if you remember how sometimes tonedeaf Michelle Obama was in 2007 and how smooth she was by 2016 - i figure Kamala Harris needs that kind of finishing school, and I'm not sure she's as fast of a learner, nor whether she has 8 years.
At any time either party could also just run more moderate candidates in states they always lose and change the electoral map instead of treating its.current, somewhat arbitrary tent size as fixed... https://t.co/13DfSuwwkK
but Dems always just hafta always have a major lefty event like, say, protesting, rioting and looting in the streets in the months before an election, and don't speak out strongly enough against it because they're afraid to lose their radicals,
and GOP has to have some major righty event like a crazy president claiming election fraud and a storming of the Capitol and they don't speak out strongly enogh gainst it because they're afraid to lose their radicals,
SOOOO we always end up with a split Senate.
I dunno, go figure, believe it or not, Mormons in Utah seem to have more sense than a lot of others and send Mitt Romney types...
Noah Rothman also seeing the situation as the radicals being in charge on both sides:
Between the hunt for bamboo shoots in ballots and state parties embracing Naomi Wolf just as she's gone full anti-vaxxer, you have to conclude that being as crazy as possible is part of the party's mission statement now.

Wondering why these bigamists don't have a natural affinity for hip-hop - seems like an alliance just waiting to happen.
