The gunman was fatally shot while exchanging gunfire with the police, authorities said.
Crickets from the birthplace of the "abolish police" gang in nearby Ferguson I imagine, who would prefer a Uvalde type situation where someone shooting schoolkids is treated with kid gloves if not aided by social workers?

Qanon is more like a cult than a political movement, I am sure many of the online activities furnish welcome soothing sounds to those with a problem of hearing Son-of-Sam like voices....
meantime, quit riling them and maybe don't let then have guns? True, you can't keep them away from hammers, it's gonna happen some times, bad things happen to good people. For that we have "security", i.e. police.

So 2 blocks away from a metro at 6th & 21st is different than 4 blocks from 18th St metro and 3 blocks from 23rd street metro, so they can write a long column about the metro and its former leader, vs petty crime from vagrants walking around the city looking for a fight? Odd.

I think the NYPD has made a dent in the violent crime stats by going hard after confiscating weapons and focusing manpower on the worst areas using compustat (including taking officers off of desk duty, as I heard on the radio last night)
Behooves to remind that guns were not exactly easy to get in the past, so going hard after them and making it known they are doing so makes a dent. So they were not starting from a point like in other places where everyone has long had 2.5 guns in their house.
And they are still falling down on subway crime, that is still going up.
