This is postmodern theory just like Trump unwittingly promotes, that there is no real truth to be found, just competing narratives and messages.
(Which is of great interest and debate in philosophy of art courses since the 80's, as it turned this old canard upside down: who do you believe, me or your lying eyes? Most college kids these days are taught this kind of Postmodern theory like it is a basic canon of western culture.)
