Democrats are starting to reappraise Abrams's chances but she was a lock for the primary given that many in her party believed the 2018 election was stolen from her (the loss wasn't her fault). https://t.co/3aP1STBSUE
In Georgia's two big statewide races, Warnock is outspending Walker and Abrams is outspending Kemp. The Senate $ isn't that surprising because Warnock's an incumbent but Abrams has brought in a lot of national money. https://t.co/HqRFjxA0eHpic.twitter.com/AWAhFsjlNu

This is something I noticed too, Stacey Abrams is not particularly motivating for AA voters. She has lower draw than Rev. Warnock does in his Senate race. pic.twitter.com/5UAkpvC4l3
This is all true, she was known to be part of the more conservative part of the house caucus in Georgia. But the past few years her power base has shifted out of state and she now is viewed as part of the national progressive cohort. https://t.co/ToknUMFWah
The line that Abrams used at that event a few months ago: that georgia is the best place to do business but the worst state to live in, is the kind of line you might use with fundraisers in other states. It's possible she used it elsewhere before using it there.
Missing here: what is the normal handicap for "running while female"? - 3%? 5%?
Here's some stats on women running for mayor vs city council or school board (yes, women have an advantage for the latter, unsurpringly? I'd guess Senator falls under the more serious job list)
Democrats blaming Black Men for Stacey Abram's low polls against Brian Kemp forget one thing: We don't owe the Democratic Party a damn thing. The Democratic Party owes us and we don't see a return on our previous investments.
With polls showing Stacey Abrams trailing Gov. Brian Kemp, the Democratic challenger in Georgia’s governor's race has leaned heavily into highlighting her support for legalizing sports betting in the state. https://t.co/2J0c07gImH
No matter what she claims about it, nearly everyone, including me, is going to see it as a ridiculously blatant attempt to buy male votes, especially Black male votes, which are a particularly weak spot for her.
It's interesting Stacey Abrams is running ads on casino gambling/sports betting as her marquee economic strategy, you have to wonder if the polls would have been different if she was promoting traditional Dem policies like a higher minimum wage or higher taxes on the rich.
People think Georgia is a very conservative state but it has a populist streak too going back to the 19th Century (some of which was beat back by the Jim Crow movement in early 20th, although Zell Miller road a second wave of populism later).
