Biden is leaning into an issue for which there is not just overwhelming public support, but support in an intense, visceral way. As @ForecasterEnten pointed out a few days ago, vaccines are now as popular as Christmas trees https://t.co/ZGifkcuYuv

I'll be dead when they are grownups, so not my problem. Just sayin': I can see the anti-masker point in this particular instance. Is this handicap worth spreading the virus more? I dunno! Again, not my problem...
I've watched the little preschool girl next door grow from nonverbal state since early 2020 and she doesn't interact with anyone except her father, they don't even let her play in the cement backyard, he always accompanies her outside. Sometimes they take her walking to the grocery, and they all wear masks, of course. He directs any talk she has with me through the fence between us, as if she does not know how to talk to other people. When I hear the father and the girl converse, it is clear she is very bright, still, what's going on in that brain?
And *I* would've said that the big story yesterday, today, tomorrow, and for the foreseeable future is the incontrovertible fact that we're not doing enough to protect America and particularly our kids against the *current* pandemic, which is about to hit 1 million *total* deaths https://t.co/dJouMg8n5U
News in QAnon world today: Veronica Wolski, a Covid denier known for hanging QAnon signs on bridges, died of Covid last night. QAnon believers, led by Lin Wood, had been deluging the hospital with demands that she receive ivermectin. Cops were called last night amid bomb threats.
Here's an article on the ivermectin harassment aimed at the hospital where Veronica Wolski was a patient. After her death, Lin Wood is claiming she was killed by "medical murder." https://t.co/3D1ux6few2
Is not even funny, I am close to trying it and has nothing to do with Covid. I've been trying to get 3 prescriptions from on M.D. filled since Thursday afternoon, with two basically being simple renewals. Following two visits to CVS to speak with angry overworked overwhelmed pharmacist, two long emails from me including new scans of ID's and insurance cards (luckily I snagged the doc's new office email-give it a couple months and I guarantee it will disappear and it will be voice mail only) and seven phone calls to/from assistants, two phone calls to/from alternate pharmacy service and MAYBE, JUST MAYBE I will have 1 or 2 or all 3 of the prescriptions in a couple days.
I can't go on like this. I never was asked if I was willing to manage the fuckups of our health care system as a full-time job.
Those vets who distribute meds on site are especially appealing.
Which makes me wonder: how come we never hear stories about vets having a conflict of interest about what they prescribe, whether meds or tests or procedures, huh? Seriously! Why do we need so many safeguards against such behavior in the practice of medicine on humans but not on animals?
Covid 19 on a winning streak: scores 5 anti-vax talk-radio hosts in 5 weeks:
Conservative radio host Bob Enyart, who spread vaccine conspiracies, and who infamously mocked HIV/AIDS deceased by reading their obituaries while playing the song "Another One Bites the Dust”—has bitten the dust… #COVID19. A reminder, though, that not all anti-vax conspiracists are white conservatives:

People constantly make these bad anologies like they're making some clever gotcha point. In the normal state of affairs fat people aren't coming to hospital in numbers that require triage. But if everytime you brushed up against a fat person you gained 100 pounds with all the subsequent proplems related to it and the hospital were flooded with all these newly fat people triage might be necessary
I have noted the meme is popular on Twitter the last couple of days. I think it's totally counterproductive because they are using examples that are clueless, basically idiotic (like "overweight" - what's next? those who use too much salt and have hypertension?)
and furthermore don't understand the reality that triage is already an intricate part of our health care system and goes on all the time, every minute every day, especially in the ER. Before covid
I have PERSONAL EXPERIENCE with a close loved one who was deathly ill in the ER of one of the finest hospitals in Manhattan in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods of NYC. He actually wanted to leave, they said no you are too ill, BUT the beds were all full upstairs, they wanted to get him in the ICU but he'd have to wait for an opening. They don't send you home if you are deathly ill, they do the best they can, in his case they just set up all the monitors and machine around him in the ER and screens for privacy. And if you have a Code Blue, which he did, actually the ER is the best place to be. 20 people there immediately They tried but he died anyway. NEXT up, triage continues...
Most people do get sent home from the ER! Because: OUR HOSPITALS DO TRIAGE, THEY ALWAYS HAVE! It's just that they don't do it politically, they don't let Tim Pool on Twitter do it. Maybe they should, who knows, maybe that would be better! I am not saying the medical professionals do a great job at it. It's just reality! Our current system is: triage first, then first come, first served.
I get the gist of what the Tim Pool types are trying to say. BUT THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO SAY IT. It just scares all people who might be chronically ill already with something like diabetes to see that idiotic type of talk.No need to get into talk about Nazi social engineering, they deal with the American version all the time, they know all about it.
per u & OK: as I noted, just throwing this out there. I didn't think it hard to poke holes in the analogy - but analogies can be used to think, not to offer airtight logic. It's not unusual to have discussions re: how much people are responsible for their own health - do they exercise, do they eat right, do they stay out of dark alleys and not hang around with gang members, do they get regular checkups, did they pony up for the high care insurance...
and then there are other factors - are they genetically inclined towards a type of disease, does their income keep them from affording healthier options, are these physically not available, does their profession keep them from living more soundly, what other injuries or afflictions or responsibilities or psychological issues are mixed into their total human decision tree/baggage? At one point driving with 3 or 4 drinks was no big deal - it took MADD & other activitists to shut that down, though did it go too far or just right or not enough? It did coincide with intrusiveness by police officers - but so did the crack epidemic. (curiously, "crack babies" turned out to be largely fetal alcohol syndrome instead - turns out it's *better* for pregnant mothers to do crack than drink themselves silly (& their babies retarded) - do we owe crack mothers an apology? does anyone really expect that to happen?
When the Ivermectin hoohah storm started, I noted a doctor who was treating prisoners with Covid *BECAUSE THERE'S NO OTHER ACTUAL TREATMENT*. Presumably the doctor was evil for not making sure all prisoners were previously vaccinated (even before vaccines became available, presumably). And that it was the prisoners' fault for not getting vaccinated (even though the majority weren't convicted - only awaiting trial or plea or release). And even though the Pfizer vaccine is turning out to fade within say 5-6 months, it will continually be the stupid people who catch it and die/not die who are the laughing stocks. And when I mentioned that some Ivermectin studies seemed to have gone well, or that Ivermectin was useful for other diseases, left-wingers on social media just assumed I was anti-vaxx and so on (nope, got Pfizer as soon as it was available for me - though sounds like Pfizer has more problems than Moderna - but who would release *that* information early for informed decisions, rather than stomping over the trials data & giving participants boosters to make it impossible to see?]
I'm not saying there's no responsibility, but it's also too easy to take the heartless side - "all these idiots got what they had coming". Yes, many people are idiots. In past times we often tried to protect idiots from their own mistakes - 15-year-olds should not be having babies or overdosing on heroin or going to prison. Of course many people aren't much less idiotic by 21 or 25 or 45 or later. People make bad choices, they're fooled by bad information, and some things (like many details about the pandemic) aren't well known or are confusing. [Fauci was saying to not worry about masks back in March 2020 - how stupid was that? but such is the swaying of our political-health-idiocratical society]
What the bloody hell is going on in that area? The report is cryptic to say the least. This part is especially mystifying:
“Obinwanne Iwu, 34, who is an escapee of Imo Correctional Centre, Owerri, went to the market with his gang, trying to enforce a sit-at-home order of the proscribed IPOB/ESN terror group.
“They were shouting at the top of their voices that ‘today is Monday and everybody must obey the sit-at-home order.
To me it's a great example for BLM in the U.S. of how their plan to have an idyllic society by defunding and then abolishing police and prisons would work out, since the only obvious thing is that police are not in control there. A place where no one can hear your screams if they are not reported clearly.
Amid the dueling accounts, a Black Lives Matter activist said his group planned to demonstrate outside Carmine’s on Monday to protest the treatment of Black patrons. “Restaurants are using vaccine mandates to enforce their racist beliefs and excluding Black patrons,” said Hawk Newsome, the co-founder and chairman of Black Lives Matter Greater New York.
Read the story, no one knew they were black before now, they were Texans and until this story everyone presumed they were white yahoos. Furthermore, the three women were accepted because they had proof of vaccination....UNTIL....
3 Black Karens, can we say that? (I don't see that the black men who showed up - 2 w/o proof of vaccination - were participating in the dispute except 1 to break it up. Though he could pull his pants up a bit...

Hah, "three black Karens", gets at the heart of it. they may have had black skin but they caused a ruckus just as if they were white yahoos from Texas. The first gut interpretation everyone had is still correct. All the more ridiculous that BLM will be protesting. What they really will be protesting is prejudice against the unvaccinated, no question about it. Any name calling by either side came after the fact.

I ALWAYS immediately think of this now anytime I see photos of people suffering a natural disaster anywhere around the world: are they vaccinated? why aren't they wearing masks? A pandemic thrives on disaster! The classic example is the 1918 pandemic and WWI:
In 1918, a new influenza virus emerged. During this same time period World War I was taking place. The conditions of World War I (overcrowding and global troop movement) helped the 1918 flu spread. The vulnerability of healthy young adults and the lack of vaccines and treatments created a major public health crisis, causing at least 50 million deaths worldwide, including approximately 675,000 in the United States. Below is a historical timeline of major events that took place during this time period....
And hey, looking that up, I also see we have basically passed the number of deaths of the 1918 pandemic!
He includes you, too, Melbourne tradesmen (doesn't look promising at all!):
