MURDER, POLITICS, AND THE END OF THE JAZZ AGE

Darrell Issa, the congressman about to make life more difficult for President Obama, has had some troubles of his own.
More than a few times in 2008, I recommended to Barack Obama "supporters" on the internet that they read Ryan Lizza's profile of Obama's Chicago years to get some hints about the politician they were supporting for president and about how it might turn out if he became president. I often got the feeling that they just skimmed it for what they wanted to believe if they read it all. This strikes me as another one of those "must read" articles, as in: read the whole thing and don't just skim it for that which you want to see.
