French Jews Ponder Israel

France has the largest Jewish community remaining in Europe, notwithstanding French complicity in the murder of their Jewish citizens and the decades it took that country to acknowledge helping put the kids on the trains to the death camps with a gusto.

Now more and more are beginning to wonder if they have a home there. It's a shame. My older daughters, both fluent French speakers and both who resided in Paris for a time during college, are absolutley in love with and have come to know well their Grandmother's cousin who, at 88, still lives in Paris, having escaped the war among the communist partisans whom she and her husband were loyal to. She'll stay in her beloved France. But what about the rest of Jewish Europe? Reason number 6 million plus infinite for an Israel with a Jewish majority.

Am Yisrael Chai. Israel lives.
