The FTC is going after a scam operation that sold $100 million worth of crap health plans that were marketed as legit coverage. "Tens of thousands" of people are stuck with huge unpaid medical bills as a result. https://t.co/Q8I9CUPCaK
One person who was tricked into buying one of these plans racked up $61,000 in hospital bills. The plan didn't cover a dime "despite assurances to the contrary by Defendants' telemarketer." https://t.co/eRYqS1HDx5
I think this is an example of why Trump won and why many republicans are elected. There are large numbers of people who are ignorant, don't read or research any of the issues, and are easy to lie to and con. I keep reading these deep analytical articles by intellectual elites attempting to explain why Trump won. Like the article you recently linked on nihilism. It may be true for a small segment of Trump's base but I think the simple explanation is best. Occam's razor you know. We all get our news from somewhere that we trust. NYT, Washington Post, Rush Limbaugh, FOX news. We generally believe what we see from the news sources we choose.
