It might surprise even me that I was affected by this article. Being Germany is much like being Dad in the house - of course kids will want more allowance or to sneak out at night. Taking it personally is like taking chromosomes or evolution personally - and certainly Greece is not bankrupting Germany -,quite possibly even makes money on the deal with better stature, solid finances, etc. But even if not...
My concern is to shame the rulers, not make average people suffer. Yeah, if the average stuffs money away in Switzerland it's a tough call, but we know with "welfare mothers" and similar we know there's a lot of semantic bullshit to distort what's actually happening.
Germany is wearing the grownup pants as long as it's grown up. Being the victim is simply unacceptable - that "knifed in the back" stuff already got us in enough trouble, and yes, Germany had lots of (Marshall) help in the Adenauer days. We just need Greece to get real about finance, not to be punished for existential sins. The history of Europe is a torturous amoral road - better not to start down it.
