Mr. Lofgren is the kind of Republican that has gone missing in our political debate. Even though I find his brand of political persuasion at odds with mine, I can see where there would be room for debate and compromise with both sides giving a little turf to move forward for the good of the public and the nation. It's disheartening to hear that we, the public, has lost an honorable and valued congressional staff member who clearly understood the need for legislation to rise above the political turmoil of ideology that's fouling the waters of both political partys.
