As someone currently enrolled in a clinical trial through NIH (along with thousands of others), I am not able to get my medication because while the fabulous talking heads of the Republican Party keep assuring us that all "essential" services are happening and that no clinical trials are affected, someone forgot to tell it to the entirely non-essential services of the mail room that sends out our medications. Yes, some of the clinical trials (especially those for patients not in the DC area) are handled via the old USPS and since "mail room attendant" (and my oncology team) and "non-essential". The wheels have come off this cart.

This story has a happy ending ... currently. It may change however, if this shutdown goes on too long.
