Yep. World is starved for high quality government credits. More than $11 trillion in sovereigns pay negative interest rates. Not negative after inflation, but flat out nominally negative. The US should issue a 100 year bond now.
Nobody is holding these for 42 years. Like all other finance stuff they hope to sell when the yield sinks even lower, and nominal price goes up, which might happen in a stock market collapse.
