Ah surprise surprise, when you've gotten to the stage of having some money you find out that as far as politics is concerned, privilege doesn't automatically come along with the money. Not only do you have to buy some politicians, you've next got to buy yourself some lobbyists.

That said, I found this anti-tokenism especially interesting

These sentiments resurfaced in almost every conversation I had. First, that Biden choosing a woman of color might actually irritate, not appease, Black voters.
