I've seen Max Boot talk enough on cable news now to know he is not a good example for this meme because it's very clear he's had a major conversion and has turned into nearly a "bleeding heart liberal." And it wasn't that much of a stretch for him because he was basically a "bleeding heart neo-conservative" to begin with. The type that naively thought our military could be used for interventions to help raise the living standards of suffering poor peoples around the planet. They never belonged in the GOP in the first place, those types thought they could reform it. hence the "neo" and look what happened. For me, Boot is just another example how bleeding heart naivete can do real serious damage.
