to those of you here (and there were at least 2 of you, I  will never forget it) who on Jan. 6 were reacting to my news posting by supporting the idea that the rioters were being welcomed along the lines of "if they were black, they would have been shot immediately", here's your answe

THIS IS WHY YOU HAVE CROWD CONTROL AT PROTESTS, THIS IS WHY POLICE ARE "MEAN" TO PROTESTERS (of all varieties!), SO THAT IT DOESN'T TURN INTO A RIOTING MOB THAT EVEN GUNS CAN'T CONTROL.

You don't even let a large protesting crowd get too angry or too dense. Start there, you start corralling them right away. They don't obey a curfew, you start arresting, clubbing, ETC. Or you could end up with this. Those little flimsy barricades, what a joke. An angry group of protesters would start with that.

I note that some of the cops here are the later DC reinforcements in riot gear, and even they couldn't handle the already riled state of this mob and the proximity they had already breached. It should have never gotten this far, but Capitol police did not expect this, the grounds were not protected well for a breach by masses of people, just had up flimsy little barricades AND FURTHERMORE, more importantly, they are not trained in crowd control. The Capitol building actually does not entertain protesters of any type to begin with, individuals who try it are often ushered out.

would have been a frigging no brainer slogan if we hadn't had many previous months of breaking curfew, rioting, looting, breaking property burning of police stations and especially: attacking federal buildings by supposed BLM supporters

but no, we couldn't because the left wanted to secede from government too...and buy guns...to protect themselves from the evil police agents of laws enacted by their overlord oppressors, the other guys they share citizenship with...nobody could...everybody riot now cause: we're unhappy, we don't get our way
