We built on the Ghettoside thesis /drilled in further on the evidence that black communities -- who feel harassed by police -- are simultaneously *underserved/denied justice in our Murder with Impunity project in 2018 https://t.co/bYw2UWnJNHhttps://t.co/IX618GQ28U
Ida B Wells and other civil rights activists were all big into black gun ownership explicitly because, they argued, that the police could not be trusted or counted on to keep black communities safe or procure justice for black people

I’d feel a lot better if our elected officials ever grasped the reality that the 911 paradigm will never deliver police fast enough to prevent crime. Known for decades. Instead, sustained retroactive investigation as a response to violent offenses can and does reduce crime. https://t.co/o8if5MvpK9

My thoughts on reforming policing in America, and the lessons we can learn from the Camden police department. @CNN. How a new kind of policing saved America's most dangerous city (opinion) - CNN https://t.co/UqzmzxF3Bz
If the people making false claims about policing and the suburbs would like to make new, different, more precise claims that are not false I will stop complaining! https://t.co/9P16z3wPoc
If what’s really meant is "we should adopt the crime control strategies used by affluent, highly segregated suburbs that use exclusionary zoning to keep all poor people out” then there’s another kind of problem.
