MURDER, POLITICS, AND THE END OF THE JAZZ AGE
by Michael Wolraich
Discussing the origin of the State of Israel in the 1940s, Mr. Gingrich said, according to a transcript: “Remember there was no Palestine as a state. It was part of the Ottoman Empire. And I think that we’ve had an invented Palestinian people, who are in fact Arabs, and were historically part of the Arab community. And they had a chance to go many places.”

And don't get me started on those so-called "Americans"! Historically, they're mainly just transplanted Europeans, Africans, and Asians. They had a chance to go many places, but yet they continue to occupy land that rightfully belongs to the Cherokee, Hopi, Choctaw, Sioux, Comanche, Navajo, Cheyenne, Blackfoot, Iroquois, etc.

Oh the places they will go! They'll be on their way up! They'll be seeing great sights! They'll join the high fliers who soar to high heights! They won't lag behind, because they'll have the speed. They'll pass the whole gang and they'll soon take the lead.

And the Neanderthals! The imperialistic Homo Sapiens Sapiens had a chance to go many places, but they continue to occupy land that rightfully belonged to the Neanderthals.
But seriously, when one stops and thinks about - what "people" are not an invention. The evidence indicates that all of us can trace our lineage back to a small group of people in southern African (who were almost wiped out by the massive drought at that time). Over time, differences in geography, religion, language, political boundaries etc etc began to be used to differentiate one people from another. Does one choose to call one British or Scot (and don't get me started on the Picts)? Bantu or Kenyan? One day I am Czechoslavakian and the next day I am just Czech. Or did I always considered myself Czech and now my state's scope is just related to me and not those ungrateful Slovaks? Are Hoosiers a people who live in the United States? (and don't get me started on those Texans!)
