Low flying anti-tank A-10 Warthogs with rapid fire cannons and AC-130 gunships were used to destroy oil tankers ISIS uses to transport oil to Turkey and elsewhere for revenue. We didn't do it before because of possible 'civilian casualties'. Leaflets were dropped first to warn the innocents working for ISIS in their oil operations.
Until Monday, the United States had refrained from striking the fleet used to transport oil, believed to include more than 1,000 tanker trucks, because of concerns about causing civilian casualties. As a result, the Islamic State’s distribution system for exporting oil had remained largely intact.
