Schumer is talking live right now on the Senate floor! Being played on CNN. He's like on adrenaline, very alert and excited. McConnell spoke before him, much shorter statement. Chuck is elaborating on details of the bill, like a victor, calls it an "outstanding agreement" and said "help is on the way, big help and quick help."

The final coronavirus package text is out and the Senate is about to start voting.

McConnell: "So here we are, colleagues."

Schumer: "It's been a long, long road with a remarkable number of twists and turns."

1st vote: Sasse amendment.

2nd vote: The full bill.

Both need 60.

The Sasse amendment FAILS by a vote of 48-48.

It would have changed the bill to make sure nobody can get unemployment benefits that exceed what their wages were before losing the job.

The Senate is now voting on final passage.
