The Rage of a Privileged Class: Why Are Middle-Class Blacks Angry? Why Should America Care? by Ellis Cose
Look around the "workplace" and focus on the black guy over there. He lives in a good neighborhood. His kids go to good schools. He owns the family home and the two expensive cars in the garage. He's making good money. He's a good, law-abiding citizen who pays his bills on time. He got the job as part of a deliberate effort by the company to welcome minorities into previously all-white reserves, but he's doing the job well and everybody knows it.
What has he got to complain about?
In Ellis Cose's view, plenty. "Again and again," he writes, "as I spoke with people who had every accouterment of success, I heard the same plaintive declaration-always followed by various versions of an unchanging and urgently put question. `I have done everything I was supposed to do. I have stayed out of trouble with the law, gone to the right schools, and worked myself nearly to death. What more do they want? Why in God's name won't they accept me as a full human being? Why am I pigeonholed in a "Black job?" Why am I constantly treated as if I were a drug addict, a thief, or a thug.' "
Bernie Sanders did not catch fire because he sees class as the big problem. The black people telling white people that race is not important in things like the coronavirus pandemic, for example, are lying to gullible white people. The fact the whites elected Trump angers many black people. Trump's response is adding fuel to the fire. This is all about race. Class is a secondary issue when it comes to the anger.
Roxane Gay spoke the truth in two NYT articles. Some tried to twist her words.
The NYPD turned their collective backs on her father after he suggested that his son Dante was instructed to take care when around police officers. He also thought that there should have been a different outcome in the Eric Garner case.
Among the hundreds of protesters arrested over the last four days, only one was highlighted by name by a police union known for its hostility toward Mayor Bill de Blasio.
Chiara de Blasio, the mayor’s daughter.
The union, the Sergeants Benevolent Association, used Twitter to post a police report documenting the arrest on Saturday night of Ms. de Blasio, 25.
The Police Department does not normally release internal police reports, and Ms. de Blasio’s contained personal details, including her height, weight, address, date of birth and driver’s license information. The post was removed for violation of Twitter rules, and the union’s account was suspended Monday morning.
Edward D. Mullins, the president of the Sergeants Benevolent Association, said the intent of his post on Twitter was to question the mayor’s strategy toward policing the protests. “Is that why you’re tying our hands, because your daughter is out there?” Mr. Mullins added. “This needs to be looked at.”
Mr. de Blasio on Monday called the disclosure of his daughter’s information “unconscionable” and that ”it’s happening to people every single day.”
Mr. Mullins said he did not leak the report about Ms. de Blasio, but rather, copied a screenshot of the report from a since-deleted post on Twitter by a Daily Mail reporter.
Mr. de Blasio said he learned of his daughter’s arrest from the media.

Also, evidently he is not a practiced arsonist....it's hard to make a Molotov misfire. The simplicity was spozed to be one of it's strengths...

Apparently the accelerant was Bud Light

Edit to add:
Advice when I was a child, "Never play with anyone crazier than you"
Also applied to girlfriends.
Drugs may have been involved (not that drugs were implied, but given Bud Light, this wasn't his usual thought process, we hope)
2nd Edit to add:
Get tested for COVID-19, hope it comes back positive, and argue that you have a novel presentation of the novel virus.
