An entire volunteer fire department in Pennsylvania has been suspended as investigators look into accusations of racism and bullying, PennLive reports. The Lawnton Fire Company of Swatara Township is no longer responding to calls or participating in any EMS operations [....]
I found it kind of inspiring to go to the PennLive link, makes it sound like government is working just fine in Swartara Township, that it's really not so hard:
"Swatara Township cannot tolerate improper or illegal conduct by any of the members of the volunteer fire companies that serve the township"
