President Biden turns 80 on Sunday, making him the first octogenarian in the Oval Office. His milestone birthday brings new attention to the gerontocracy that has led both parties for years and raised questions about when a new generation will come forth. https://t.co/GE9BQWtiry
Happy birthday Mr. President I hope you have an excellent day tomorrow (Sunday). My take: @JoeBiden will be remembered as an important @POTUS someone who held our nation together when it could have started to fall apart from insurrection, war, and COVID19https://t.co/nxcDBIsC0W
The degree to which Biden has realized Trump's (fraudulent) "America First" vision is under-appreciated imo.
Under Biden, America is implementing industrial policies that privilege U.S. manufacturing over diplomatic relations, and actively seeking to thwart Chinese development. https://t.co/InwBFa5vBB
Joe Biden beat Trump, got vaccines into tens of millions of arms, helped Ukraine beat back Putin, invested billions in green energy, got us back to full employment, cut the deficit, and just pulled off a huge midterm upset. Not a bad two years
meanwhile I can see from Twitter that variants of this are the newest right-wing conspiracy that has legs because it "'splains" a whole bunch of embarassing stuff in one neat package:
It is increasingly looking like the Democrats 2022 campaigns were funded by kickbacks from Ukraine funding using FTX as the pass-through vehicle
No wonder dude is scared for his life after ripping off these people https://t.co/Te5iqmpMqj
Couple dollars away from Bidens stated buy zone to buy back the SPR and execute/finalize one of the greatest oil trades in history pic.twitter.com/QKCTYAk81O
FREE READ: “Biden should quit politics & be a great president. He should climb above the fray & travel to every place he lost in ‘20, bringing the country together & instigating a debate about the country’s future w/in the Democratic Party primary process.”https://t.co/O0Zy7kFFT0
Joe Biden happier than a mfer got a Werther's original candy in each pocket got the damn good cherry wood logs on the fire and shit pic.twitter.com/2eVeUgY2XW
Biden on incoming GOP majority in the House: “When Republicans came to see me, the future leadership in the House, they're telling me what they can do, what they were going to do, so I'm sitting at the desk — and I just went like this with my pen and said, ‘Veto.’”
As long as they had Trump to galvanize & do the heavy lifting, they could act like big shots. McCarthy, DeSantis, Pence, etc will hall have trouble crawling out of their niches at a national level. DeSantis at least has a serious FL base, but what is he in Congress or nationwide?
I think true what you say about McCarthy and Pence but precisely because they have made themselves a reputation as pitiful pandering prevaricating beta weasals, exactly the thing that many love to hate about politicians.
DeSantis. on the other hand is like in another category, as a governor he actually has to do stuff, and remains to be seen whether his shtick will transfer to national. I suspect from how he acted in a 'good and fair manager' role in the hurricane aftermath, even working fine with Biden, that he is quite capable of changing from culture warrior on a dime.
It really is just different when governors run for president.
As Biden deliberates on his own plans for 2024, it’s worth revisiting the story of James K. Polk, a man who was underestimated at every turnhttps://t.co/SYWXuW67K2

Part is they overestimate themselves.
